No doubt that Annapurna Region is the world’s major trekking destination ranking among the world’s top ten adventure trekking destinations. More than 60 percent of overseas tourist visit Nepal for trekking in the Annapurna Region. Not only the majestic Mt. Machhapuchre (Fish Tail), or lush green rhododendron forests, but over 100 species of orchids, 700 medicinal plants, rare and endangered species such as the snow-leopard, the musk deer and the blue sheep including five of the six species of pheasants make their home in the Annapurna Region. Moreover, being a region Nepal’s different ethnic and tribal people with diverse religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Bon Po, Shamanism and Animism, the Annapurna region makes the visit culturally rewarding as well.
