After the monsoon rains stop, Nepal’s trekking season begins along with the season of festival. Generally, there are two popular trekking seasons in Nepal. The Autumn from Mid-September to Mid December which is also called the peak season, and the Spring from March to May which are warm months in Nepal. It’s winter in December & January, Summer in May & June, Rain in July & August. However, the temperature & rainfall also vary according to the altitude.

For those wishing to trek on a particular time of the year, we suggest the following information.

Autumn (Sept-Nov):
Festive Season, Trek Anywhere in Nepal

Winter (Dec-Feb):
Occasional snowfalls at higher altitudes. Trek below 3,000 meters.

Spring (March-May):
Trek anywhere in Nepal.  

Summer & Rain (June-Aug):
Trek in the upper & Trans-Himalayan rain shadow areas of Upper Mustang, Dolpo and Mt. Kailash.
