Panch Pokhari Trek Nepal - 15 Days

Panch Pokhari trek Nepal  is garnering attention as being a must-visit site in eastern Nepal. The journey starts from Kathmandu and it takes you across the Araniko highway and into Chautara. From there, you will trek to Phurse by admiring the Gaurishankar Himal ranges. Move towards kami Kharka and observe the sheep grazing over there. Walk past pastures and arrive at Hile, from where you can see Everest and Kanchenjunga. Climb the green terrain to reach Panch Pokhari.

This pond stands out in the green terrain and it is an important religious hub too. Make your way down the Indrawati river to reach Dhap, and after a quick descent, you’ll reach Melamchi Pul. From here, catch a bus that will take you back to Kathmandu.
Panch Pokhari trek in Nepal is the best taken during the Spring and Autumn season. It does command a certain level of skill and endurance but it isn’t that much mandatory too.

Day 01: Arrival
As per your flight, you will arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and our representatives will be there to pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. At the hotel, you will freshen up and our guides will tell you about the contents of the trip and the plan which we will use. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing
The motive for the day is to indulge in a quick and thorough sightseeing trip in the major parts of the Kathmandu valley. Our journey will start by visiting the small settlements that are located in the periphery of Kathmandu like Godawari and Bhaisepati. After these sites, we shall aim to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu (1350m.) – Chautara (1200m) 5 hrs by bus
Our morning starts early as we need to proceed towards Chautara, which is the starting phase of this Panch Pokhari trek. Our journey goes through the beautiful Araniko highway and gives us glimpses of the small settlements in the highway. We shall take small breaks while traveling to prevent boredom. The drive will last for a total of 5 hours. Once in Chautara, you can see the life of eastern Nepal. Overnight in Chaurtara.

Day 04: Chautara-Phusre (2045m.) 3-5 hrs trek
The road from Chautara will take us to Phurse for today. The walk provides an amazing display of the beautiful surroundings which comprise of green hills and blue skies. The trek lasts for at least 5 hours and you can witness clandestine views of Mount Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa, and other snowy mountains. Phusre is another Tamang village that provides us a unique taste of Tamang culture. Overnight in Phusre.

Day 05: Phurse-Kami kharka (2845m.) 3-5 hrs trek
The trail from Phurse takes us to the tranquil region called Kami kharka. The trek proceeds for at least 6 hours and meanders through the densely forested trails and settlements. You will see many oak forests and pine forests along the way. We shall be greeted by the beautiful views of mountains as well. Kami kharka is a grazing ground that is used by shepherds to herd their speech. Overnight in Kami Kharka.

Day 06: Kami Kharka -Pauwa Bas (3000m) 5 hrs trek
The road from Kami kharka takes us to Pauwa Bas. We are now entering the higher parts of the dense forests. The road will continue for at least 6 hours and will see an increase in elevation. You will pass through the settlement inhabited by the Nomad people. Our settlement is at Pauwa Bas which is a beautiful Tamang settlement. Overnight in Pauwa Bas.

Day 07: Pauwa Bas-Hille Bhanjyang (3400m) 6 hrs trek
The road for the day takes us to Hile Bhanjyang. The walk starts early and it involves walking on steep landscapes. As always, the trail passes through rhododendron forests. Hile Bhanjyang is an amazing vantage point in Eastern Nepal and it gives travelers the view of Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga. Overnight in Hile Bhanjyang.

Day 08: Hille Bhanjyang – Nasim Pati(3700m.) 4-5 hrs trek
We are now closer to the Panchpokhari. Before we reach the Pokhari, we take a brief stop at Nasim Pati. There are a small number of settlements here that act as a resting point for travelers. The view of high hills and mountains are a common sight on the trek. Overnight in Nasim Pati.

Day 09: Nasim Pati- Panchpokhari (five lakes) (4100m) 5 hrs trek
The Panchpokhari is the major highlight of this trek and we shall reach here. This pond sits at an elevation of 4100 meters and is a great pilgrim hub as well. This lake has great religious significance as well. These lakes are bluish in color and stand out in the green landscape. The view of tundra vegetation is a major attraction in this region. Overnight in Panchpokhari.

Day 10: Panchpokhari- Nasimpati (3700m.) 4-6 hrs trek
After visiting Panchpokhari, we retrace our steps back to Nasimpati. The trail goes through the previous one and it will feel relatively easier as well. Overnight in Nasimpati.

Day 11: Nasimpati-Dukang (2100m.) 5 hrs trek
The trail goes through dense forests today. The trail goes through forests like Oak and rhododendron. As you proceed ahead, you are rewarded with the best picture of snow-laden mountains and Himalayan ranges. The forests on the way are homes to animals like the white monkey and Himalayan bear. Overnight in Dukang.

Day 12: Dukang – Dhap (1200 m) 4 hrs trek
Our trek takes us to the small settlement called Dhap. Today, our trail goes along the banks of the beautiful Indrawati river. This river feeds many villages in this region. As you move along with the river, you can see small terrace fields and local fields that are used by the people. We finally arrive at Dhap after trekking for 5 hours. This small village is filled with Tamang people that have their own lifestyle and culture. Overnight in Dhap.

Day 13: Dhap – Melamchipul (800m) 5 hrs trek
The trail to Melamchipul takes us along the Indrawati River. As we walk on the river banks, we enjoy the great display of hills and mountains. There are small terraced fields along the way too. You can even see a small hydropower plant. The walk goes across small lodges and teahouses too. Once in Melamchipul, you can witness a small bazar. Overnight in Melamchipul.

Day 14: Melamchi Pul Bazar – drive to Kathmandu 5 hrs by bus
The morning will be spent at Melamchi Bazar. We shall have a typical Nepali breakfast and we will go shopping for souvenirs as well. Then we get on a bus and get back to Kathmandu. The drive may take us about 5 hours or more depending upon the traffic conditions. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you can choose to explore the remaining parts of Kathmandu. The company will host your farewell dinner in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Departure.
Today is your final day in Nepal and our representative will make sure that you reach the airport as per your scheduled time and date. Thank you for traveling with us and we hope to see you again shortly.
